A good writer is, first, a great reader. Here's what I've been reading lately, if you have any recommended books please email me.

Philippa Gregory

The Other Boleyn Girl

Great book! (adult historical fiction) It tells the story of  the Boleyn sisters, Anne and Mary, and their lives at court. Gregory did an excellent job of making these characters' motives and development believable. She must have done a TON of historical research. I noticed that the movie is out in the UK. Scarlett Johansson plays Anne and Natalie Portman plays Mary.(adult historical fiction)

The Queen's Fool

The second book in her series, just as gripping as the first. The mc works as a 'fool' at court for Queen Mary and ultimately, Queen Elizabeth. Again, Gregory has created interesting and unique characters and given new life to the stuff of history books.(adult historical fiction)

The Virgin's Lover

The third book follows Elizabeth I's first years on the throne and her affair with Robert Dudley. I really enjoyed the way Gregory weaves fiction around fact. The characters were so compelling. Another great read. (adult historical fiction)
